Hello pretty lady and maybe a few gentlemen who are feeling brave! Welcome to my blog. I am so excited you have chosen to spend a few minutes of your precious time here with me. I am Kelli Bardel and I have a true passion for all things Jesus and for finally coming into the realization of what it means to truly live free in Him. I have two favorite scriptures. The first is 2 Corinthians 3:17 (NLT), “For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.” The second is John 8:36 (NLT), “So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free.” When you grab ahold of these two scriptures, your life will radically change. You will begin to walk in true freedom once and for all from the things that may torment you such as guilt, shame, fear, anxiety, worry, mistakes, bad decisions, wrong choices, gossip, slander, insecurities, unworthiness, addiction, loneliness, depression and sadness, just to list a few. I firmly believe living free begins with falling madly in love with your Creator, the One who loved you so very much that He died for you. And not just any death; it was a brutal death, the ultimate selfless sacrifice just for YOU. I know that’s a powerful and heavy statement to start things off with, but that is how radical His love is for you. Join me on this journey as I share true revelations from God’s Word along with lessons I have learned through my relationship with Jesus that led me to perfect love, redemption, restoration, and FREEDOM!
I want to tell you up front, this blog is going to be real. I’m not perfect. I will make mistakes along the way, and I’ll probably use them as examples in future blogs. I’m not a professional writer by any means so I apologize now for any typos or run-on sentences you may encounter!
On the more practical side of things, I’m the wife to the most amazing man that God chose just for me. Our story is quite the love story which I’m sure I will share at some point. It’s quite dreamy if I do say so myself. I am a mom to three beautiful girls (yes, my husband is officially outnumbered!). Our new home is quite chaotic most of the time with our high schooler, preschooler, toddler, four cats and one big, goofy German Shepherd. I’m also a labor and delivery nurse and have been for many, many years now and have a multitude of stories I could tell you surrounding that to say the least! We attend an amazing Spirit-filled church. I co-lead the Women’s Bible study at church and love to host smaller Bible studies in my home. I am currently enrolled in the online program at Charis Bible College. When I’m not working or spending time with my family, you can find me on the road traveling with my hubby and supporting him in his ministry. I’m passionate about women, teen girls, marriage, worship, seeing lost souls come to know Jesus, and spending quality time with my Lord and hearing His voice. I cry at an instant when I think of His faithfulness and the blessings He has bestowed on my life and I am fiercely unapologetic for it. I love black & white movies, fountain Diet Cokes, coffee, Dove chocolate, yoga pants, lounging with my hubby, listening to my girls laugh and play with one another, and date nights. I’m kind of particular about my hair and makeup and I’m obsessed with my iron. And I mean, my clothing iron. Everything needs to be ironed in my world! I love fresh flowers on display in my home. I love food, like a lot. I love college basketball, specifically my Tar Heels! I dislike it when things look messy and disorganized and I loathe doing the dishes. Beets, water chestnuts, and olives are quite disgusting and make me gag. I also have this weird aversion to loose, pulled, or missing teeth! No lie. My idea of a perfect day would be lounging somewhere on a secluded beach listening to waves crash and smelling that pure, clean air and feeling that warm sunshine on my face.
